Gael Clichy Confirms He Will Leave Manchester City During Summer

Manchester City defender Gael Clichy has confirmed he will be leaving the club when his contract expires during the summer.

Clichy joined the club back in 2011 and enjoyed huge success winning the Premier League title in 2012 and 2014.

But the French full-back has struggled to cement a regular first-team place since Pep Guardiola took charge and is now looking for a new challenge.

Clichy is one of seven senior players who will see their contracts run out during the summer and confirmed to fans that he will not be playing at the Etihad Stadium next season.

When asked at a Q & A session if he would be playing alongside Joe Hart next season, Clichy replied: "It's hard. I'm not sure whether or not Joe will be here next season, and I won't be here next season."
