One common dream most of us have experienced at least once is about being pregnant, or that someone close to us is expecting.
Both men and women can have pregnancy dreams but, unsurprisingly, they are more common in women.
Ally Mead, who has studied dream analysis, explained during an interview with the Huffington Post
Pregnancy dreams usually represent creativity or a new idea being born.
She says: "If you dream of being pregnant, you are likely craving time to be creative, or ‘dreaming up’ a new and exciting creative project that will come into existence down the line."
This could be a big idea at work or a smaller project in your home-life.
She adds: "I find that people who have disowned goals and desires often dream of pregnancies."
So for example someone who gave up their passion in favour of a more stable career path.
However pregnancy dreams are not always about ourselves.
Sometimes they can be about other people, which can also be very confusing.
In some cases they can be literal, and the person may actually be pregnant, but according to Mead there is also a more symbolic meaning.
he says: "Usually this is a sign that something has been left inside, unexpressed or undone.
"Something this person once deeply cared about is either coming to the surface for them on an emotional or physical level or is begging to be let out by his or her soul."
So if you're dreaming about being pregnant - is it time to start exploring that new idea?
