James is a 58-year-old engineer who has been married for 36 years and has a sex life which would be the envy of many men a fraction of his age.
He also has a very understanding wife. Four times a week he slips between the sheets for sex sessions with blonde April, who looks like she is only just out of her teens.
But April isn't his wife, and she isn't an extra marital affair. She is 153cm tall with a "number 36" head, and one of three chesty latex sex dolls costing £2,000 each who James shares his life and body with - even taking them on 'dates'.
Now he's saving for a £8,000 robotic sex doll called Harmony who can smile, talk back to him and who will be responsive during sex.
His wife Tine says she struggled at first with the other "women" coming into James' life while she was caring for her sick mother but has now grown accustomed to them sharing his bed.
She said: "If he really wanted to he could have gone out and found someone else but he didn't do that, he was true to me."
James said: "Every guy has in his head the perfect girl and this is what I see when I look in the mirror and see this look. Most manufacturers make them look something in the region of 20 years old. For a man of my age it's a fantasy because I will never be a Brad Pitt or something like that.
"When I take April out it's usually to a hamburger place where we can stop and get a bite to eat, a lot of people don't even notice she is not a breathing person.
"We usually have sex two to three sometimes four nights a week routinely. It's amazingly like having sex with a real woman, the biggest difference is whatever position you want them in you have to put them in, as they will not get there on their own.
"Doggy style is not a problem because their backs flex, you put it in whatever position you want.
"Every guy knows what it is like to slap a woman on the butt and this is not unlike the real thing.
"The sexual aspect of doll ownership is a very small part of it, what you find more pleasure from in the long run is looking after them, dressing them, putting on their make up and interacting with them. I feel deeply for her, more deeply than I had ever imagined.
"Most doll owners although they do go into with the doll as a sex toy they find they do do develop a relationship with it. If I had to choose between April and my wife I honestly don't know what I would do."
Up until now James has had to rely on his imagination when he talks to his dolls and interacts with them but that could be about to change.
In San Marcos, California, Matt McMullen of The Real Doll Company and the associated business Realbotix have been racing to create "Robosexuals" - dolls with artificial intelligence and more 'interactive' sexual functions.
He has created Harmony - a prototype sex robot who can 'seduce" owners and respond to questions.
Matt is at the forefront of the race to be the first to create a fully functioning sex robot after first making highly realistic sex dolls.
He said: "My original intention was to create a unique piece of art something that looks so convincingly real that people stop and look at it. Potential clients were saying I love your work and the way this doll looks but can I have sex with it, it made me realise that this was going to be a business venture not an art project."
Around 80 per cent of manufacture is female models and he says everyone's doll is different - customers pick the body, the face, hair colour, nail colour and make up and eye colour.
But the next stage is electronics, he explains: "We want to bring this experience to a whole new level for people, making them move and talk. We are looking at robotics and artificial intelligence and ways of integrating them into our dolls to make them come to life.
"I want to put a camera in her like a iPhone so she can recognise if she is indoors or outdoors and be able to recognise her own over someone that she has never met. She could see and recognise people and assign names to them and recall information about them so she could say 'Hi bob, how is work over at the construction site?'
"Fifty years from now with the way technology is moving it would not surprise me if sex robots were as common place as porn."
Matt and his team plan to update Harmony's body with sensor technology so she can give realistic sexual responses. He added: "We are adding in self lubrication, internal heating maybe some kind of constricting feeling when she experiences an orgasm."
